Aly Hellcat – A Fierce Blacktop Betty

I met Aly at a Viva Las Vegas After Party. I shot the first photo here of her making a face and shaking her fist! A bit of a sun-burn and all crazy! She was really cool and I asked if she would be our Blacktop Betty. She agreed and then found out she had to write a bit about herself. “Uggh!” She says. I thought she’d be good not only because she is a bombshell, but also because she is a modern Burlesque performer and promoter in the Seattle area.

So here she is kats and kittens! Aly Hellcat our Blacktop Betty this month:

I’m Miss Aly Hellcat. I am an alternative, cheesecake, pinup, and fashion model from Seattle Washington. I grew up in a small town in Maine and as a child was a bit of a tomboy. When other girls were playing with Barbie dolls I was climbing trees and listening to Greenday’s first album. Around third grade I remember on weekends when my big sister was out, I’d paw through her clothes and play dress. My sister had this amazing burgundy silk bra and I would try it on and model it in front of the mirror that I was hardly tall enough to see into. It was then that I knew that although I was a little rough around the edges, I absolutely loved being a girl! And at 20, having already become infatuated with old Hollywood and WWII era movies, I began studying the art of classic pinup and cheesecake. I LOVE cheesecake modeling! Aesthetically pleasing at it is, I just love how much fun I have doing it and how confidant a woman looks in her own skin. As a 21st century cheesecake model I have been able to take inspiration from the fabulous 40’s and 50’s but spice it up with modern fashion rock and roll! Some of my influences are Bunny Yeager, Mae West, Wanda Jackson, and of course Miss Bettie Page.  Strong, beautiful, confident women who march to the beat of their own drums!

In the past two years i’ve had the honor of working with some amazingly talented photographers as I let my art evolve and I’ve happily traveled far and wide to so! Some of my publications include Retro Lovely Magazine Issue 4, and the Seattle Stranger and I have done fashion work Retro Swimwear, Lucky Cupcake Hairclips, Venus Prototype Latex, and several other companies. I have also taken to Burlesque and Fire performing and will be putting on my very first rock and roll burlesque show at the Crocodile Cafe!  The Crocodile is a Seattle landmark and im honored to be putting on the first burlesque event there, and I hope to do more in the future!  In the future I also hope to do more work with fashion, (particularly alt and pinup fashion) to travel more often, and hopefully to do a burlesque tour. I am currently making plans for a 2012 calendar among other projects, but the main plan behind it all is to have fun doing what I love and always stay true to who I am… Curvy and sweet but a little rough around the edges!

And on a final note I’d like to thank all of my family and friends for supporting me through everything I do and help keep my fire burning!! I love you all!
Sincerely,
Miss Aly Hellcat
