While hanging out with Keith Kaucher at the Good-Guys Del Mar show I ran into Andrew. A while back, Andrew asked Keith to draw up a 1959 Cadillac with a truck bed between the massive fins. Keith is good at that. Good at drawing up vehicles that look like manufactured customs. Recently his drawing if a 2013 Camaro/El Camino was brought to reality by Bernt Karlsson and unveiled at the SEMA Show then quickly thrown on a ship and won Best of Show at Bilsport in Sweden. Currently Keith’s vision of a Camaro-Wagon for Fast on Wheels is getting finished up at The 401k Club Hot Rod Shop.

But I digress. Andrew works on the docks. After a day of machining, he heads to his shop to turn a former Winfield project to a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. And we are there half-way through. Andrew worked with Winfield for over 2 years and in that time learned of some pretty good chop and welding skills.

To start the project, he took a 4-door sedan, welded up the doors, fender skirts and chopped the top 4 inches and brought the rear window forward to just behind the front doors. He is using the same front windshield of the Aussie built/Winfield painted “Wild Cad”. The rear window is stock height although the bottom sill is lowered. At this moment, he has a mockup plate for the bottom sill. The dash is reworked completely with a center gauge pod. He C-notched the frame to get the body on the deck with his first air-bag job.

Keep an eye-out for this project as we will keep you informed of major progress. Did I mention this is Andrews first complete car build? Go big or go home.
