We received an e-mail the other day asking to be a part of a Disneyland Half-Marathon. Along the 13 mile route around the Magic Kingdom, classic cars of all makes line the street early in the morning to greet the runners. This is the 2nd year the organizers of the Disney Half-Marathon have invited the cars and their owners to be a part of this event. Over 15,000 runners prepared  as they stage at sunrise and head through the streets of Anaheim.

There were about 70 cars lined up in reserved spots. They set up the cars in order of year, so the runners see a history in their route. This is one event where they pay you to display  your car. They require you to be set up before 5:30am and then you can leave after the last runner comes through about 4 hours later. It appeared we were about 3/4’s down the race route as the runners were pretty well spread out and some were getting exhausted. At the end of the race a Disney representative comes by and gives a pair of park-hopper passes to each vehicle participant. That’s an awesome value!

All in all, it was a fun morning and we were done early enough to do more that day. Keep an eye out at www.rundisney.com for more details of the race.
